The Central Board of Secondary Education has released a notification for the next UGC NET for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor in the form of CBSE UGC NET Notification 2017. The candidates, who want to join as a professor at colleges or University Level, may apply online from here.
Update (16-11-2016): CBSE NET 2017 online registration has been extended up to 23-11-2016. The candidates can apply online from the direct link given below and pay fees up to 24-11-2016.
The CBSE – Central Board of Secondary Education is one of the most popular government organization which organize various competitive exams. The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the one examination which is also conducted by the CBSE on behalf of University Grant Commission (UGC) for determining the eligibility of Indian candidates for the eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges.
CBSE UGC NET Notification 2017
Recently, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued the notification that the next UGC NET-2017 exam for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor on 22-01-2017 at selected cities across the India. The CBSE will make available the detailed notification of CBSE UGC NET 2017 on their official website at www.cbsenet.nic.in by 15-10-2016.
The National Eligibility Test is conducted by CBSE in 83 subjects and approximately at 88 selected cities across the country. CBSE UGC NET is a national level examination. Earlier, it is scheduled in June and December every year but from 2016, it is expected in the month of July and January every year.
As of now, official notification is not released on the portal of CBSE. The details given below here for UGC NET 2017 exam are based on the previous information. CBSE UGC NET 2017 January Exam Eligibility Details
NET – National Eligibility Test is one of the famous examination for the candidates who want to get an appointment as Assistant Professor or to pursue research in the subject of their Post graduation and also to get eligibility for Assistant Professor. The candidates should check other details like application form, age limit, educational qualification, exam pattern, exam dates, admit card, answer key, result and how to apply online which are given below.
Age Limit: The candidates, who want to submit an online application for UGC NET 2017 January Exam should have following age.
- Junior Research Fellowship: The candidate’s age should not be more that 28 years. Relaxation in the Upper Age will be as per government norms.
- Assistant Professor: There is no Upper Age limit to submit an online application for the Assistant Professor posts.
Educational Qualification: The candidates must have Master’s Degree or Equivalent Exam with at least 55% marks (50% Marks for OBC/SC/PWD candidates) from UGC recognized universities in Humanities, Electronics, Social Science, Computer Science and Application, etc. The candidates should refer the official notification for detailed conditions of eligibility.
Examination Fee: The candidates have to pay Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for OBC and Rs.150/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) as an examination fee by Credit Card/Debit Card or through e-challan generated during the online form submission.
Selection Process: The CBSE UGC NET selection process will comprise of following steps.
Step 1: Minimum marks to be obtained in CBSE NET for considering a candidate for the award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor:
The candidates must require to get minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III as given below:

Step 2: Amongst those contenders, who had cleared step 1, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates.
Step 3: Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step 2, will be announced CBSE NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only.
Step 4: A separate CBSE NET Merit List for the award of JRF will be prepared from amongst the CBSE NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared in step 3.
CBSE UGC NET January 2017 Exam Date and Schedule
As per the recent notification, the CBSE will going to conduct the next UGC NET 2017 for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor on 22-01-2017.
The CBSE NET 2017 exam will consist of three papers. All the three papers of CBSE UGC NET will consist of only objective type questions and will be held as per scheduled in three separate sessions as under:

Paper-I of UGC NET exam shall be of general nature, intended to access the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. The paper will be primarily designed to test reasoning ability, divergent thinking, comprehension, and general awareness of the candidates. The question paper will consist of 60 multiple choice questions of 2 marks each, out of which the candidates have to require to answer any 50. In case, if the candidates had attempted more than 50 questions, the first 50 question attempted would be evaluated.
Paper-II of CBSE NET exam shall consist of 50 objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. All the questions are compulsory, and each question will carry 2 (Two) marks.
Paper-III of CBSE NET exam will consist of 75 objective type questions from the subject selected by the candidate. All the questions are compulsory, and each question will carry 2 (Two) marks.
CBSE UGC NET Admit Card: The admit card of the UGC NET 2017 to be held on 22-01-2017 will be made available for download on the official portal once uploaded. The applicants, who are appearing for the CBSE UGC NET – 2017 exam, can download their admit card from the first week of January 2017.
CBSE UGC NET Answer Key: The Official Answer Key of CBSE NET will be uploaded by the CBSE once the National Eligibility Test has been successfully conducted. The candidates may download answer key from the official portal.
CBSE UGC NET Result: The CBSE will announce the UGC NET Result after releasing of Answer Key and OMR Response Sheets of CBSE NET 2017 exam on their official portal.
